Award win for Aneurin sports bar

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 16:00, Thursday November 21st, 2013.

The Aneurin Sports Bar in Penyrheol has been named the top seller for the Christmas period in the area by supplier Molston Coors brewery.

Operators Clayton Jones and Kate Parker won a pair of hospitality tickets for last Saturday’s Wales vs South Africa rugby match.

Second was the Municipal club in Caerphilly, whose committee collected a free round of golf for at the Glamorganshire course at Penarth.

Mr Jones said: “Two Caerphilly outlets having the business confidence to invest is good news.”

Following the bus fires at the Aneurin Sports Bar I had a look at the "car park" at the Club. It is impossible to use it for parking now as the whole of the area is nothing better than a scrap heap. How the proprietor is allowed to leave it in that condition is beyond belief.

There are wrecks of busses there and the ground is covered in broken glass. Maybe a photographer could visit the sight and highlight it in uour newspaper I lived in penyrheol for 55 years and have never seen anything like it before.
