Appeal for information following burglaries in Pontllanfraith and Draethen

Police are appealing for information following two burglaries and two attempted burglaries in the Caerphilly County Borough area.

An attempted burglary was reported at St Mary’s Road, Pontllanfraith between 10.30pm November 20 and 10.10am on November 21. Damage was caused to a kitchen window frame.

An second attempted burglary was reported to have taken place the same night on Broadmead, Pontllanfraith. Damage to doors was caused.

In the early hours of the morning, between 2am and 5am on November 21, a burglary occurred on St Mary’s Road, Pontllanfraith. Entry was gained via an unsecured door. Stolen items included a bag, camera and tobacco.

The following night, between 8.50pm and midnight on November 21, a burglary occurred on Melindwr, Draethen. Entry was gained via an unsecured door and stolen items included a bag containing a laptop, credit card, car keys and a wallet.

Gwent Police are asking residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity in their area.

A spokesperson said: “Please ensure that windows and doors are securely locked, especially at night time, and that valuables are removed from view.
