News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Monday December 2nd, 2013.

A young family’s first pictures of their newborn baby boy have been stolen by heartless thieves

New mum Jade Woodward, 24, (pictured above) was asleep upstairs with her partner and four-week-old son while her home was ransacked.

Police are appealing for information following the burglary in St Marys Road, Pontllanfraith.
The break-in happened on Thursday November 21.

The burglar stole personal items including a handbag which contained a purse, personal documentation, Argos gift vouchers and bank cards.

The baby’s changing bag which contained his birth certificate, clothing, keys to the house and an Olympus underwater digital camera were also taken.

The camera had pictures of family holidays and precious pictures of the newborn baby of which there are no other copies.

The family would like to appeal to anyone with any information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the camera to contact 101 and quote log number 113 21/11/13.

• Police in Caerphilly town are also appealing for information following a burglary at a property in Gellir Felin, Energlyn in the early hours of Monday November 25.

It is believed the burglary occurred between 1am and 9am. Cash, two laptops and jewellery was stolen from the premises.

If anyone has information they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 and quote log number 143 25/11/13.
