New location and opening hours for New Tredegar Post Office

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Tuesday December 17th, 2013.

The Post Office has announced it will move its New Tredegar branch and extend its opening hours.

Currently located on James Street, the proposed new location will be at Mandy’s Village Mart, on Commercial Street.
Residents are invited to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

The new service is proposed to open in March 2014, subject to a successful consultation.

Post Office Regional Network Manager for Wales, Adrian Wales, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in New Tredegar and we are confident that this new modern branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us and also secure services for the future.

He added: “The proposed changes to the branch are part of a major investment programme to 2018, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6000 branches (about half the Post Office network) converting to new-style branches. The investment marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

Opening hours at the proposed new location will be 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sunday.

The consultation will close on January 31 2014. For more information visit postofficeviews.co.uk.
