South Wales Police is re- appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of 26-year-old Ashley Wells who has been missing for more than a week.

There is increasing concern for Mr Wells, who has links to Ystrad Mynach, after he was last seen leaving his home address in Gabalfa, Cardiff, at 8.45pm on Sunday, January 5.

Officers have checked CCTV footage from cameras near his home but it is not known which direction he travelled in and where he has been since.

Specialist teams and the police helicopter have searched the River Taff, the Taff Trail and wooded areas in Gabalfa and Llandaff as part of the continuing effort to find him.

Detective Inspector Julian Bull from South Wales Police said: “We are getting increasingly worried about Ashley, who has left home without his wallet and mobile phone, and we are doing all we can to hopefully find him safe and well.

“We would urge anyone who may have seen Ashley since last Sunday or has any information which may be relevant is contact us.”

At the time of his disappearance Ashley was wearing very dark ‘Criminal Damage’ make jeans, khaki brown canvass shoes, a khaki green coat from Next, described as very big, oversized and very bulky with a big hood with fur around the edge.

Ashley is known to visit West Wales, particularly Newport in Pembrokeshire, and also has links to Gwent including Ystrad Mynach.

There is increasing concern for his welfare and anyone who knows of his whereabouts or has any information which may be relevant is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence number 62140005137 or their nearest police station.
