300 fined for litter and dog mess in Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Monday January 27th, 2014.

More than 300 people who littered or failed to pick up after their dog last year were fined by Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Council enforcement officers handed out 308 fixed penalty notices of £75 between January 1 and December 31 2013.
Of these, 259 were for littering and 49 for dog fouling.

Cllr David Poole, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services, said: “Our residents have identified dog fouling and littering as priority issues for the council, and I would urge people to keep a keen eye out for those committing these offences and to report them to the council.”

On 23rd Dec I reported a dog fouling incident to CCBC informing the department of the location adding the fact that I had a photograph of the owner and the dog. I received a reply with an incident number (1015874) and have heard nothing since. Yes, Christmas may have some bearing on the delay of an adequate response……….
