Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood will visit Caerphilly this week as part of her tour of Wales.
Ms Wood will meet local party members and supporters at Caerphilly RFC, Virginia Park on Thursday, January 30 at 7.30pm.
Huw Jackson, secretary of Plaid Cymru’s Morgan Jones branch, said: “Party members in Caerphilly are looking forward to hearing Leanne’s plans to transform Wales after the 2016 elections.”
Perhaps she can kick her local non existant Plaid Cymru ward members into shape!
You would be lucky, Arthur!
They are all far too busy dreaming up a new way to waste taxpayer’s money or the next way in which to inflict the Welsh language on the Welsh people. Welsh didn’t even originate in Wales…it originated in Cornwall.
I am not sure which party is a bigger waste of space; Lib, Lab, Plaid, Con? The way forward is purple!
I like Leanne Wood, she is not afraid to say what she thinks. I don't agree with much of what she says but she comes across as a very genuine person. A refreshing change in a party leader today, most of the others do not share their beliefs with us but are busy trying to second guess what the opposition is doing, or going to do, and forestalling them.
Instead of carping Arthur why don't you turn up at the meeting and listen to Leanne Wood. I'm sure you'll be welcomed.
I would prefer to be doing other things with my time. I had that leaflet through the door but it said nothing about what Plaid Cymru were doing in this ward. For years they've taken this ward for granted. We've seen and heared from the Labour Councillor more in 18 months than we've seen from Plaid in all their time.
and your Labour councillor is ? ? ?
Arthur – you seem very happy to criticise but are not prepared to listen to Leanne Wood. Some people may think of you as a bigot Arthur!
If I remember correctly, Arthur, we live in the same ward and I haven't heard anything from the Labour Party nor have I heard anything from someone in the Labour party since before the election.
I wonder, have you needed the help of your local councillor? Councillors seem to be experts in talking to people and doing sod all when approached but hopeless at keeping in touch with the winder community and connecting with them.
Councillors need to star randomly knocking on doors of residents to ask how they are, if they need help, their views on something etc…
One or two doors a street will work as word will soon spread of their efforts. This will pay dividends come election time.
Councillors seem to think they are elected to make decisions on behalf of the people. This is a backward view. They are elected to make decisions based upon the views of the people. Obviously, it's unreasonable to expect thee to knock on every door in the ward but knocking on a dozen in the immediate facility for a smaller problem and many more for a larger problem is expected. It is a terrible same very few do. The council have become reliant upon public consultations. Both are needed!
I'd be interested to learn, Arthur, which Caerphilly Town Councillors, other than the Plaid Cymru ones, volunteer their time, free of charge, to erect the Christmas lights, arrange the fireworks displays which, incidentally, raises money for local charities, and help clear snow from in front of elderly people's homes? Councillors of all parties should never go knocking on doors as they'd become nuisances. They are generally contactable should the need arise but they cannot fix every issue raised.
We, the readers, look forward to your answer regarding the question Arthur.
Hello Arthur?
