A469 between New Tredegar and Pontlottyn remains closed

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 14:36, Wednesday February 12th, 2014.

The A469 between New Tredegar and Pontlottyn remains closed to traffic and pedestrians.

Welsh Water has repaired the water main, but Caerphilly County Borough Council has said the carriageway remains unstable and is subject to ongoing close monitoring.

The council has said it will consider “appropriate engineering solutions” to make the site safe, but with further bad weather expected, the road will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Advanced signage has been placed on key routes around the county borough and diversions are in place.
