Blue badge holders will soon benefit with an extra hour of free parking in all pay and display car parks in Caerphilly County Borough.
Additional disabled parking bays will also be made available in 12 pay and display car parks while the size of a number of disabled parking bays will also be increased at nine sites.
Caerphilly County Borough Council has said the improvements will be implemented over the coming months.

That will take the total hours free to one . All pay & display car parks in Caerphilly are "disabled not exempt" . It's easier to go to Cwmbran or Cardiff.
Why on earth should disabled people have free parking. There's me thinking disabled people wanted equality.
I agree, Tap Payer!
I am in favour of having disabled only parking spaces nearer the entrance in order to assist with their mobility, but they should still pay for the parking like the rest of us.
Can a supporter of free parking for the disabled highlight why they they think parking should be free for the disabled and not the able bodied? It seems to be reverse discrimination.
Obviously, the ideal solution would be free parking for ALL!
Blue Badge users, for instance, can park on double yellow lines for limited periods, on single yellow lines for longer periods, all free of charge.
Most drivers, who visit Caerphilly for instance, have to pay for the privilege to use civic car parks. most disabled driver do the same, any advantage a disabled driver may have is that spaces are normally reserved near to facilities which we all use.
There are however an elite group of people who work in Caerphilly Town, and who serve the public, who can park all day free of charge, some of these people even still make use of the `free` `reserved` car park adjacent to the old police station in Park Lane, to park, after which, they `block` the entrance to any other users, perhaps this CAR PARK should be turned over to disabled people coming into town to park short term, say, one hour free of charge.
If they then decide to use other public car parks in the town they should pay like everyone else. IY DOES NOT HELP of course when Gwent Police, in working closely with Local Councillors representing the town centre unilaterally decide TO REMOVE DISABLED PARKING BAYS in favour of large commercial lorry deliveries to local pubs, etc.
Is it no wonder disabled drivers try to avoid Caerphilly town in favour of other more ` driver` friendly shopping centers like Cwmbran, Bargoed, and Blackwood.
Tax payer most dont have a blue bage for free parking is so we can get to the shop
