Ynysddu farm on BBC’s Lambing Live this Sunday

News | Gareth Hill | Published: 15:41, Friday March 21st, 2014.

Ynys Hywel Farm in Ynysddu is set to feature in the first episode of this year’s Lambing Live produced by the BBC.

In 2012  host Kate Humble visited the Sirhowy Valley Country Park farm, owned and managed by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Countryside and Landscape service, to borrow a Badger-faced Welsh mountain ram to breed with her own Wye Valley flock.

Now Ynys Hywel Farm is set to feature on this week’s Lambing Live as celebrity presenter Kate looks back and shares her own fledgling experience of farming life.

Kate catches up with Farm Manager Russell Jones to talk about life at Ynys Hywel working farm, whose 112 acres are home to Welsh Black and Belted Galloway Cattle, Badger-faced sheep, Tamworth pigs and a variety of chickens and ducks.

The show is due to broadcast this Sunday March 23 at 8pm on BBC Two.
