Sign up for Caerphilly walking challenge

News | | Published: 15:44, Tuesday April 22nd, 2014.

Walkers still have time to sign up for Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Challenge Series, which is set to take place on Saturday May 10.

The annual event is a series of walks, ranging in difficulty and length, all beginning at Rhymney Comprehensive School.

The Let’s Walk Challenge is a led one to five-mile walk, while the Wild Boar Challenge is a self-led walk where participants can run, jog or walk the 14 or 22 mile routes. Ramblers Cymru are also leading a nine-mile walk as part of the series.

People can sign up for the Let’s Walk Challenge on the day for free, but anyone interested in taking part in the Ramblers Cymru walk or the Wild Boar Challenge must sign up before Tuesday April 22. The longer walks are £10 per person. Under 18s receive a £2 discount, but walkers must be over 12-years-old and accompanied by an adult to take part.
