Stagecoach lower fares for young people across Wales

News | | Published: 11:00, Monday May 19th, 2014.

Bus operator Stagecoach has announced it is cutting fares in Wales for people aged under 19.

The company – which is Wales’ biggest bus operator – is launching a pilot scheme which will give teenagers a third off adult bus tickets.

The scheme is set to begin on June 2.

To claim the discounted fare youngsters will have to register online for a smartcard.

John Gould, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales, said: “Stagecoach already offers the best value bus fares in Britain and this new discount scheme will make it even cheaper for young people to use the bus to get to where they need to be – leaving them more money to cover other costs.”

So they’re essentially introducing child’s fares for all children?

They are reverting to an old policy. Didn’t they increase child fares and make them for under-15’s a few years ago?
