Two deliberate grass fires in an hour in Fleur-de-Lys

Firefighters were called to two incidents of deliberate grass fires within an hour in Fleur-de-Lys last night, May 19.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a group of children were seen lighting fires in a field in Gelli Haf at around 5pm.

A crew from Aberbargoed put the fires out within 30 minutes but firefighters were in action ten minutes later at another deliberate fire in Fleur-de-Lys.

And another deliberate fire was then set in Pixie field Fleu De Lys at 17.40, Aberbargoed crew attended using beaters.

Gwent Police were informed of both incidents.
