A ten pin bowler’s hope of competing on the international stage has received a cash boost from Caerphilly Lions Club.

The charitable organisation presented a £500 cheque to the ten pin bowling section of Special Olympics Wales at their training base in Nantgarw’s Bowlplex.

The money will help bowler Kay Paynter, who has been selected to play in the Special Olympics World Games in California next year.

Jan Williams, team coach, thanked the Lions Club and said the money will make a huge difference to Kay who has to raise £2,500 to cover the cost of her trip.

Anyone wishing to donate can contact Mrs Williams on 01633 615893 or 07980039354.
