A new centre to help families affected by cancer is to be built alongside Velindre Hospital in Cardiff.
Maggie’s, the charity which provides emotional and social support for people with cancer, has been granted planning permission for the new building.
The centre has been designed by award-winning architects Alun Jones, who is originally from Caerphilly, and Biba Dow of Dow Jones Architects.
Mr Jones said: “It is a great experience to be working with Maggie’s, using the charity’s broad vision and vast experience of helping people with cancer, to create a Maggie’s Centre of the highest quality in South East Wales. We are especially delighted to be working in Cardiff – the hospital is only a few miles from where I grew up.”
