Workers at Coleg Gwent have voted overwhelmingly to strike in a dispute over jobs, wage cuts and downgrading.
The college could make 31 compulsory redundancies and 80% of Unison members who took part in the ballot called for strike action.
Peter Short, Unison Regional Organiser, said no date has been set for action but it will be before term ends this month, adding “we’re still in talks that are making progress but we’re not there yet”.
The college has a campus in Crosskeys and say substantial savings are needed due to Welsh Government cuts.
