Plaid Cymru councillor re-elected as chair of Penyrheol, Trecenydd and Energlyn Community Council

News | | Published: 16:00, Tuesday June 17th, 2014.

Penyrheol, Trecenydd and Energlyn Community Council has re-elected Steve Skivens as its chairperson for another 12 months at the authority’s annual general meeting.

Cllr Skivens, who also represents the ward on Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “I’m delighted to have received the support and confidence of councillors across the political spectrum.

“It’s great to have another year to support the council and my community after my re-election as chair. We have had some great success in the past year and I hope to carry on with the good work.

“PTE councillors are really focused on improving our area, working with the community and people who may need support. Often there is goodwill and constructive discussion at our meetings. It’s a shame that’s not reflected at all local political venues. Everyone has a voice and a point of view. The community council is stronger by its co-operation and mutual respect.

“I’m also pleased that my Plaid Cymru colleague Michelle Britton has also been selected as vice chair. Michelle is dedicated and very popular in her ward.”
