New Gwent Police Inspector and Sergeant arrive in Bedwas and Ystrad Mynach

News | | Published: 13:00, Tuesday July 15th, 2014.

Gwent Police has welcomed a new Inspector and Sergeant to cover the Bedwas and Ystrad Mynach areas.

Inspector Ben Bond and Sergeant Sarah Greening will support the Neighbourhood Policing Teams in Bedwas and Ystrad Mynach.

Inspector Ben Bond joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1999 and served as a PC and Sergeant in Lambeth and Wandsworth Boroughs.

During his time in London he worked in variety of roles including Response Policing, a Crime Task Force, Neighbourhood Policing, Custody and in a Borough Control Room. Ben joined Gwent Police in 2010 and has worked in Response Policing, Project Work, CID, Neighbourhood Policing and Neighbourhood Support.

Sergeant Sarah Greening joined Gwent Police in 2003 and has worked in Response Policing as well as the Integrated Offender Management Team, Sarah also spent time on attachment in CID. Since 2010, Sarah was promoted to a Sergeant role and has also acted up as a temporary Inspector throughout Caerphilly.

Over the last four weeks the pair have been out meeting their local communities.

Inspector Bond said: “The Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been working hard to address crime and antisocial behaviour in Bedwas and Ystrad Mynach. The teams and I have been meeting with the public and our partners as often as possible to listen to your concerns and provide reassurance in relation to matters affecting you the most.

“We recently held a Summer Street BBQ event at Ystrad Mynach Police Station which was a huge success and I’d like to thank the team and community members who gave up their time to help out and attend. We’re now planning a similar event for Bedwas Police Station – mark it in your diaries: Monday July 28, 1pm to 5pm.

“We now look forward to continue to work hard to provide the best possible service, keep people safe and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in our communities and remember, if you’d like to keep in touch with us, you can pop into the stations, come along to one of our meetings, ring us, email us – you can even keep updated on what we’re up to on our Facebook and Twitter pages. If you’ve got an issue you’d like to discuss, please contact us at any time.”

Ystrad Mynach Police Station is now open to the public between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday
Bedwas Police Station is open to the public on Monday, 12pm to 1pm and Friday, 4pm to 6pm.
