Cyclist attacked by two men on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly

A cyclist was admitted to hospital after he was attacked by two men who got out of a car on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly.

The attack happened at around 12pm on Monday July 28. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The victim was travelling towards Asda when he got off his bike near Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Two men got out of a car, believed to have been travelling in the same direction, and assaulted him.

The cyclist, who is 50 and from Caerphilly, went to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Police believe there were a number of witnesses to the assault.
