Boy, 16, charged with wounding after two men stabbed in Blackwood

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of wounding after two men were stabbed in Blackwood.

A man from Blackwood, aged 29, is in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, while a second man, aged 44, also from Blackwood, is in a serious condition at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and wounding after an incident on Bryn Road and Apollo Way, in Blackwood, on Friday August 1 at 11.15pm.

Gwent Police said the 16-year-old has also been charged with breaching an antisocial behaviour order and assaulting a police officer.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, which may have started earlier in the evening around the Stone House Public House, is asked to ring 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log 507 01/08/14.
