Volunteers from a London youth project have worked with their counterparts in Senghenydd in hosting a photographic exhibition.

Kids Company, which was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996, provides support to vulnerable inner-city children.

Several youngsters, who have been helped by the scheme, recently visited Senghenydd Youth Drop in Centre’s Aber Valley Summer Scheme.

They helped to run a series of photographic workshops, the results of which went on display in St Peter’s Church Hall in Senghenydd.

Dave Brunton, Manager of SYDIC, said: “The project was a complete success, allowing young people from very different backgrounds and cultures to work together.

“The outcome was fantastic and thought provoking, with young people proving that different cultures can work together and benefit their communities a lesson for us all.”
