Blackwood retail access to be improved

News | | Published: 14:05, Tuesday August 19th, 2014.

Steps linking Blackwood town with Blackwood Gate retail park are to be fixed.

Islwyn AM Gwyn Price raised concerns with Caerphilly County Borough Council over the closure of the steps between Thorncombe Road car park and the retail park.

In response, Mr Price received confirmation from the council it had secured funding to improve the steps.

Mr Price said: “I know that Caerphilly Council is committed to linking their retail parks with town centres so I was surprised to see that this vital access route had been closed off to the public.

“I am delighted by the news that the council has found the money to improve this well used pedestrian route before the end of this financial year.”
