Teens arrested for burglary at St Sannan’s Church, in Bedwellty

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with a break-in at a church.

Three boys, one aged 15, two aged 16 and two 16-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of burglary following the break-in at St Sannan’s Church, in Bedwellty.

Gwent Police said the burglary happened sometime between 9.55am on Monday August 11 and 10.15pm on Wednesday August 13.

A number of items were stolen from the church including high value gardening equipment – all of which have now been recovered. Property was also damaged and graffiti was daubed on walls.

The arrested teens, all from the local area, have been bailed pending further enquiries.
