The Post Office has confirmed it will modernise its branch on the Castle View housing estate in Caerphilly town.

The branch, located within the Tesco Express store, will have a refit and will open for longer.

The new opening hours will be 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.

Post Office Regional Network Manager for Wales, Sue Whittall, said: “We know how important the Post Office service is to the community and we feel sure that our customers old and new will welcome the new modern open plan format and longer opening hours.

“This move will help secure Post Office services in the area for the future.”

The modernisation is part of a wider investment programme that will see more than 8,000 branches across the UK updated.

The branch will close for refurbishment at 12.30pm on Saturday October 4 before reopening at 1pm on Thursday October 9.
