Jake Sweeney manslaughter accused appears before court

A Caerphilly man charged with the manslaughter of Jake Sweeney has appeared before Cardiff Crown Court today, September 8.

Jason Grovell, 23, of Gelli Deg is accused of killing the 26-year-old who died in hospital after he was assaulted in Caerphilly town centre in the early hours of August 24.

Grovell, who appeared via video link from Cardiff Prison, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the same court on October 13.
