An elderly woman had to be freed from a car she was travelling in after it was hit by a bus in Llanbradach this morning, September 10.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed Caerphilly firefighters were called to Wingfield Crescent at around 9.45am.
He said a bus collided with a moving car and a parked car and the woman could not get out as the driver’s door was blocked.
The woman, who was hastily removed from the car, was shaken up and checked over by paramedics but sustained no injuries.
The bus driver and his passengers were also uninjured.
Earlier reports suggested the elderly woman was driving a Nissan Micra, but police confirmed she was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: “We were called at 9.50am this morning to a report of a road traffic collision on Wingfield Crescent, Llanbradach, involving a green Vauxhall Corsa, a bus and a parked Fiat 500
“A female passenger travelling in the Corsa was taken to hospital to be checked over as a precaution.”
funny same car and same bus as last time
De ja vu!
An Accident on the road constantly waiting to happen
The lack of parking regulations, followed by any, dangerous parking, enforcement
leaves road users taking thier livs in their hands using this road, it is a bus route, and nobody is taking up the road safety issues which the road presents, why????. is ther a loss of votes in the issue if someone ges a grip of it and `lay`s down the law`.
It would help if buses slowed down and even give way on this stretch of road. Again bad planning when they took away all the yellow lines…
Actually it wasn’t the buses fault. I seen it it was the bloke driving car, it was his fault not the bus.
have driven that road for over ten years in buses never had a problem myself but the volume of people who still use it and not the bypass is in credible. they park where they like on occasion and even when ur going through a gap they still come towards u with no where to go .. game over .. ur all stuck then.. its gutting its happened but its been an accident in waiting
