A man has been arrested after an eight hour siege in Lansbury Park resulted in 60 homes being without gas and electricity.
Police arrived at Buxton Court just before 4pm yesterday, October 9, after reports a man was threatening to self harm inside a property.
A risk of fire saw gas and electricity supplies to 60 houses cut off to protect properties, but supply has resumed with no damage to surrounding houses.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent and criminal damage and is currently in police custody.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said police patrolled to reassure the public last night and will continuing to patrol over the weekend.
