The building of two wind turbines on Oakdale Business Park has won a prestigious environmental award.
The project, by developer Partnerships for Renewables and Caerphilly County Borough Council, won the award for Best Use of Renewable Energy in the Public Sector at the recent Wales Green Energy Awards.
The four-megawatt turbines at Oakdale were built on a regenerated former colliery site.
The project, which began generating electricity at the end of 2013, was formally opened in June this year by then Welsh Energy Minister, Alun Davies AM.
Cllr David Carter, Mayor of Caerphilly county borough, said: “This award win is great news for everyone connected with this scheme.”
