Road works begin on A468 Caerphilly bypass

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 22:11, Saturday October 25th, 2014.

Three weeks of road works have begun on the A468 Caerphilly bypass.

Caerphilly County Borough Council had said the work between the Trecenydd and Pwllypant roundabouts will mean the road is closed on the eastbound carriageway (from Trecenydd to Pwllypant).

The work will involve the reconstruction of parts of the carriageway and resurfacing.

A spokesman for Caerphilly County Borough said the timing was to incorporate the autumn school half term holidays to minimise disruption to the travelling public.

I do wonder why they cant swap over which way the traffic travels depending on time of day, during morning rush hour to have traffic travelling towards the a470 and mountain and then swap the system to allow traffic travelling back from the A470 for the evening rush.
