A468 Caerphilly bypass reopens after roadworks

Major roadworks on the A468 Caerphilly northern bypass between Trecenydd and Pwll-y-Pant roundabouts have finished ahead of schedule.

The surfacing works meant the road was closed in both directions, which had caused major disruption for motorists.

However, Caerphilly County Borough Council has said the work is now finished and that the road was reopened on Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Surfacing works to the A468 (between Trecenydd and Pwll-y-Pant roundabouts) in Caerphilly have today been completed, well ahead of programme.

“The works were scheduled to continue until this Sunday, however the road closure will be removed at 3.30pm this afternoon, Friday, with the works full complete.

“The council would like to thank road users and residents for their patience during these works.”
