Hundreds of people attended Remembrance Day services across Caerphilly County Borough on Sunday November 9.
In Caerphilly town, the annual parade took place through the town centre and down to the Cenotaph at the Twyn.
Local politicians, dignitaries and representatives from the Royal British Legion and other groups laid wreaths. The Last Post was played, followed by two minutes silence.
Islwyn MP Chris Evans attended several Remembrance services over the weekend to pay his respects to fallen soldiers.
Mr Evans joined those attending Remembrance services in Pontllanfraith, Oakdale and Maesycwmmer. After the services he laid wreaths with members of the Armed Forces, Royal British Legion and local community groups.
Mr Evans said: “I was encouraged to see so many people come out this weekend to pay their respects to those who have fought and served on behalf of our country. It is very important that we remember their bravery and commitment, and never forget their stories.
“The Remembrance services held this weekend, and all the other events taking place across the constituency are testament to our remarkable history.”
Mr Evans added: “In the past few months I have been privileged to attend many exhibitions and services to mark the start of the Centenary of the First World War.
“It is always so impressive to see the community come together like this, and it has truly reawakened an interest in local history.”
