Pharmaceutical Norgine announces expansion of Hengoed site

Pharmaceutical company Norgine has announced that construction for a new warehouse at its site in Hengoed has begun.

The company has said the multi-million pound project is indicative of its confidence in the future of the Hengoed site.

The warehouse, which is expected to be fully operational from September 2015, is designed to meet all pharmaceutical regulations for storing components for the manufacture of medicinal products. It will be 2,669m2 and have the capacity to store 3,000 pallets of raw material.

Norgine have occupied the current site in Hengoed since 1960, and is used for the global manufacture, packing and shipping of medicinal products. It currently employs over 350 staff at Hengoed.
