FairShare Cymru helped make 25,000 meals in Caerphilly County Borough from ‘waste’ food

A charity donated enough food for 2,000 meals in Caerphilly County Borough in the last month.

Since 2011, the charity has redistributed food for two million meals to organisations feeding the vulnerable and 25,000 of those meals were distributed in Caerphilly County Borough.

The charity fights food poverty by tackling food waste and in 2013/2014, the charity distributed 340 tonnes of food, obtained from the food industry that would otherwise be discarded as waste.
