£19k raised for Text Santa charity by Caerphilly-based PHS Group

Business, News | | Published: 10:32, Wednesday March 25th, 2015.

Workplace services company PHS Group has raised more than £19,000 for ITV’s Text Santa appeal.

Children’s hospice services across the UK will benefit from funds raised by the 2014 appeal and PHS’ national charity partner, Together for Short Lives, will benefit as one of the six Text Santa charities.

As part of the fundraising activities, PHS staff took part in ITV Text Santa’s mammoth 24 hour static-cycle challenge.

The team as a whole covered 1,500 miles – the equivalent to cycling from Caerphilly to Lapland.

Nick Appleby, Corporate Fundraising Manager from Together for Short Lives, said: “We are thrilled with the fantastic amount raised by PHS for the Text Santa appeal. Children’s hospices are all charities and rely on donations to run their lifeline services for children who may not live to reach adulthood.”
