A leading specialist in concrete applications and repairs has relocated to Caerphilly town and opened a new trade counter.

Betonbauen, which has a turnover of around £1.3 million, has moved from its offices in Newport to a building off Nantgarw Road near Aber Halt railway station.

As part of the move, the company has also opened up a trade counter below its offices to sell their materials direct to the public and traders.

Steve Davies, founder of Betonbauen, said the move puts the company on a firm footing for growth.

Mr Davies, who is currently Chair of the Concrete Society, said: “A lot of our guys are from the surrounding area so it made sense for us to move.

“We have always had plans to open our own trade counter, and with this building we were able to achieve that.
“We currently have 18 employees, including two trainees, and we have further plans to grow and expand.”

The name of the new trade counter is WasserWerk, German for ‘waterworks’, and alongside Betonbauen, which translates as ‘concrete,’ reflects the company’s international work.

Good luck to them, I hope they do well. Let’s have a bit more work from the councillors/MP/AM’s to attract even more business into the area please. A bit of Caerphilly PLC promotion wouldn’t go amiss.
