Ambitious Caerphilly women are moving ahead in the technology world thanks to a European-backed project which has boosted both their careers prospects.
They are among a group of over 160 women who have secured new high-level skills and career development support under the WAVE programme – Women Adding Value to the Economy – which is celebrating its achievements after three years.
From the independent evaluation of the programme, one in five women reported receiving significant pay rises and over half said they expected an uplift in earnings in the near future as a direct result of their engagement with the programme and almost 80% said they felt more confident about their careers.
WAVE, which was backed by the European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government, was set up to explore and tackle the persistent gap between male and female earnings in Wales.
I see the campaign to promote the joys of undemocratic unions has already begun.
Doesn’t matter if you put positive in front of discrimination someone has to unfairly miss out.
Glad these ladies are making a success of whatever venture they are in but this preferred group at the expense of another malarkey has got to stop soon.
Or heterosexual, heteronormative, binary gendered, white, cisgendered, able bodied, anglosheric, working class, psychologically stable, non criminally prone men will be extinct.
Then who will get stuff done because no one else will?
