Nantgarw-based GE Aviation Wales, which specialises in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engines, has strengthened its leadership team with two new appointments.

Rachel Maude, from Cardiff, joins the company as Human Resources Leader and Jan Cap, from Czech Republic, joins the company as Repair Business Unit Leader.

Rachel joins GE with a wealth of HR experience, having held a variety of HR roles in both corporate and start-up environments across the UK and in Europe.

She will be responsible for driving the site’s HR strategy, with a focus on talent development, coaching and employee performance development.

Jan joins the team having previously held the role of Site Leader at GE Aviation’s Prague facility for the past five years.

In his role, Jan will be responsible for the rework and serviceability of engine parts, as well as driving quality, EHS and delivery in the component repair area of the shop.

On the new appointments, Government and Business Relations Leader Rhys Williams said: “It’s a prestigious time for the site as we celebrate our 75th anniversary in Wales this year and we are delighted to welcome Rachel and Jan during this time.

“Both Rachel and Jan will play a pivotal role as we look to further strengthen the leadership team here at GE Aviation Wales. Both have an excellent track record and their experience and fresh perspective will positively influence the company’s business strategy.”

Make low-level engineers redundant and hire new, additional managers; seems sensible.
