Four car thefts in four days in Risca and Abercarn leads to police warning

Four cars have been stolen over just four days in Risca and Abercarn.

A grey Seat Leon was stolen overnight on July 16-17 from Newport Road in Risca. Its registration is CK07 ZBC.

On July 17 a  white Toyota Aygo, registration CK14 UFZ, was stolen from Cae Gorlan Court in Abercarn and the following day a white Skoda Yeti, registration CE13 LTJ, was stolen from The Rank in the village.

Yesterday, July 19, a grey Peugeot 207 convertible, registration HG09 CSO, was stolen from Bridge Street, also in Abercarn.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers are urging members of the public to be vigilant with the security of their homes, vehicles and possessions at all times.

“Please ensure that windows and doors are kept locked and secure, especially when unattended, and valuables are kept out of sight.

“Anyone who sees any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood or has any information relating to the thefts above is asked to call 101. In an emergency always call 999.

“Officers are also keen for any local residents with CCTV in these areas to get in touch.”
