Fire ravages building in Woodfieldside, Blackwood

Firefighters tackled a blaze at Woodfieldside, near Blackwood, where an outbuilding was “heavily involved in fire”.

Crews from Aberbargoed and Caerphilly were called to the scene at Filkins Cottages just after 6.30 am this morning, September 2.

It is believed the fire caused “structural collapse” to the building and a spokesperson said it was “severely damaged”.

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is ongoing.

Can anyone tell me what an outbuilding “heavily involved in fire” means?

I assume they mean to say “an outbuilding is ablaze” but people working in the public sector seem, increasingly, unable to speak plainly.
