The Tommy Cooper Society has donated a defibrillator to Bedwas Workman’s Hall as part of its campaign to increase access to heart defibrillators across Caerphilly County Borough.
The society’s chairman Tudor Jones praised the hall’s management for their work in making the building the centre of community life and wished them well for their campaign to install a lift to improve access.
Jill Winslade, chair of the hall, said a donation will be made to the society and although she hopes the defibrillator will not be used said it’s comforting to have it in the building.
Members of the Welsh Ambulance Service demonstrated how to use the equipment and stressed how simple the defibrillator is to use.
