Man, 61, arrested after drugs and a firearm found in Graig-y-Rhacca raid

News | | Published: 09:34, Wednesday October 7th, 2015.

Drugs and an air weapon were found when police raided a house in Graig-y-Rhacca, leading to the arrest of a 61-year-old man.

Gwent Police officers executed a warrant on September 26 at a house on Milton Place in the village.

A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class B drugs and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The air weapon is being analysed.

If they are having to analyse it to find out if it’s been boosted to beyond 12lbs then they don’t know its a firearm yet.
You can’t call it a firearm unless you know it’s been boosted to over 12lbs, until that point it’s just an air arm.

Firearm makes a better headline than air weapon.

An airgun is not a firearm in any shape or form, a firearm shoots a projectile by use of a chemical propellant, the ‘fire’ bit is the clue here.
