Councillors have approved plans to ensure the conservation of an historic village is preserved.
Bute Town, which is north of Rhymney, is a community of 48 houses built around 1830 to house ironworkers.
It was first designated a Conservation Area in October 1972.
As a consequence of bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, the conservation area was reassessed and the council agreed to extend it.
Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development, said: “We are fortunate to have many fine buildings and areas that are distinguished by their architecture, landscape and history in our county borough – not least Bute Town. It is crucial that we protect and conserve these buildings of significant historical importance.”
It was on homes under the hammer the other day. I think it was a repeat though.
