A hairdresser from Ystrad Mynach has been crowned as Welsh Student of the Year at the National Hairdressers Federation’s Welsh Hairdressing and Beauty Awards 2015, which took place in Cardiff recently.

Josh Griffiths from Spirit Hair beat students from across Wales for the top prize.
NHF Wales president Mark Coray said: “Massive congratulations to Josh.

“The awards recognise the very best professionals in our industry, judged by the people who matter the most – our clients.

“Competition was really intense this year so everyone, whether winner or runner-up, should be hugely proud of the recognition they’ve achieved.

“The success of this year’s Welsh Hairdressing and Beauty Awards 2015 has shown, once again, that Welsh hairdressing is in a great, exciting place to be right now. Long may it continue.”

Donna Friend, Training and Marketing Manager at Spirit Hair, said: “We are very proud that one of our talented trainees has been recognised for their hard work and dedication to the industry.

“Josh joined our team earlier this year and has thrived in our work based training environment.

“He is a star in the making and he will be one to watch for the future.”
