Two accidents on A468 Caerphilly by-pass caused heavy traffic

News | | Published: 11:30, Thursday December 17th, 2015.

There were two accidents on the A468 Caerphilly bypass yesterday, Wednesday December 16, which caused heavy traffic in the area.

Caerphilly Observer mistakenly reported that four cars had been involved in a single crash between the Bedwas Bridge roundabout, near to the entrance of Crossways, and the Pwll-y-Pant (Cedar Tree) roundabout.

However, Gwent Police has now clarified that there were two crashes within ten minutes of each other on the same stretch of road.

The first happened at 3.25pm when a silver Ford Fiesta crashed into a lamp post while the second happened at around 3.35pm when two cars, a Toyota Starlet and Ford Fiesta crashed. A woman was checked by paramedics but needed no further treatment.
