A Caerphilly businesswoman is celebrating being named new marketer of the year at the recent Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards.

Sophia Al Janabi, who was promoted to European Marketing Manager at DS Smith Recycling weeks before her award win, collected the Canmol gong during a glittering ceremony at Cardiff City Stadium last month.

Ms Al Janabi, formerly of the Principality Building Society marketing team, said: “Being announced as Canmol’s New Marketer of 2015 is a massive honour. The Canmol awards are a respected benchmark within the Welsh marketing industry, which makes this accolade even more meaningful.

“Through my roles at DS Smith Recycling I have been lucky enough to manage some fantastic projects in the company of a truly talented team.

“Each day I find myself learning something new, and it’s wonderful to be recognised for the progress I’ve made over the course of my career. I look forward to the next stages of my journey within marketing.”
