Risca curry house’s MP honour

News | | Published: 17:00, Tuesday December 22nd, 2015.

A Risca restaurant has been commended by a group of MPs with a taste for spice.

The Tiffin Club of MPs search for the best curry house in the UK on an annual basis – awarding the winner with a cup.

Islwyn MP Chris Evans presented the Tamarind Indian with a certificate and apron after they were highly commended by the Tiffin Cup 2015.

This year, the Tamarind faced competition from 127 other restaurants across the country and was judged ‘highly commended’ for its high quality food, service and atmosphere.

Mr Evans, who nominated the Tamarind, said: “I am delighted that the Tamarind Indian has been highly commended in the Tiffin Cup. This is a testament to the fantastic efforts of all the staff.

“I have eaten at the Tamarind many times and I have always enjoyed the high quality of their food, fantastic service and the pleasant atmosphere.”
