Volunteers needed to help United Welsh housing association

News | | Published: 17:00, Wednesday December 23rd, 2015.

Caerphilly-based housing association United Welsh is looking for volunteers to help people who are feeling lonely or isolated to reconnect with their communities.

The project, known as ‘Connect’, is targeted at helping older people in United Welsh’s housing schemes, and other local people.

Led by Thrive@United Welsh, the team that manage United Welsh’s specialist accommodation and support services, volunteers will be paired up with people to help them get active, try new hobbies, share their skills, and more.

Dominy Palmer-Day, Senior Community Link Worker for Thrive said: “Volunteering can make a real difference, providing friendship, companionship, and giving people something to look forward to. Volunteers are also a gateway for other services.”

• For more information contact Dominy Palmer-Day on 0800 294 0195 or email thrive.admin@unitedwelsh.com.
