Man admits stealing £200 worth of alcohol from Asda Caerphilly

A 23-year-old man has admitting stealing £200 worth of alcohol from Caerphilly town’s Asda on the day before Christmas Eve.

Deividas Sabaliauskas, of no fixed abode, was arrested after stealing spirits from the supermarket.

He appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court on Christmas Eve and admitted one charge of theft.

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on January 11.

Sergeant Sarah Greening said: “Shoplifting is a serious offence and I am reminding people that if you are caught, you will be arrested and dealt with.”
