An 83-year-old man killed in a car crash in Pontlottyn yesterday has been named by police.
Royston Carr was driving a blue Vauxhall Astra when it crashed on the A469 near the Capital Valley Industrial Estate at around 1.20pm.
Gwent Police said Mr Carr, who was born in Merthyr but lived in Abertysswg, died at the scene.
His family have released the following tribute: “Roy was a genuine, caring, considerate, kind man who loved life and was proud of his heritage and proud to be Welsh. He will be missed but not forgotten.”
The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
