Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire in New Tredegar at 10.48pm last night, Thursday , February 18.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the fire on Duffryn Terrace, Elliots Town with two crews from Aberbargoed.
A third fire engine from Rhymney was also called to help tackle the blaze. A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said flames were as high as eight metres in the terraced house attic space.
Crews fought the fire for over an hour, eventually extinguishing it just after midnight.
Salvage sheets were used to protect the house from the elements overnight, and further inspections took place this morning.
